The Spectacled Bear
The spectacle bear lives in the high mountainous area of the Andes. Its closest relative is in fact the giant panda, and after the giant pand it is the most endangered species of bear. It has dark brown dense fur and eats fruit, bamboo and cactus. Due to a lack of food resulting in the bear eating crops grown by farmers, the bear is shot by the angry and irratated farmers. It also is under threat due to habitat destruction.

The Malayan Sun Bear
The Malayan Sun bear is one of the smallest bears in the bear family. A full grown adult male will grow up to roughly four feet whilst sanding tall on its hind leg, but despite the bear’s small size it can still be very dangerous. It weighs a mere 64kg or 140 pounds.
The Bear got its name from having a “U” shaped golden crescent on its chest. The bears are omnivores, using their long claws to dig for honey and grubs, which they eat with their long tongues. They are very rare to tropical rainforests such as southern China, Burma, Malaysia, Sumatra, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Borneo. The Bears rely on their good sense of smell as their eyesight is not so good. The Malayan sun bear is suffering greatly from deforestation and habitat loss. Poaching is another major issue for this bear but as food sources run out due to manmade measures the bears are forced onto farmers land and are mostly shot or trapped by angry farmers. The Bear needs our help if it is to survive.
