Every second over 1.5 acres of rainforest is either chopped down for timber or burnt to make way for plantations such as the very troublesome palm oil. This is a severe case in Idonesia. As so many palm oil company's take advantage, the rainforest seems to be dissapearing, fast, along with species such as the orangutan and the sun bear. As the deforestation occurs many tonnes of natural greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere, these gases were being trapped there by the trees. This is making Idonesia one of the highest greenhouse gas polluters in the world. We need to stop theis destruction and now. This is the reason why the RHN 1st anniversary will be helping fund a campaign to save the sumatran rainforest with the RSPB.
