The Giant Panda is one of the most delightful and captivating of animals, yet one of the most endangered species in the world. Pandas live in China and spend 16 hours a day eating. They have distinctive black and white fur. But farming in China meant the destruction of bamboo forests.The best scientific estimates place the total number of all pandas at only 800. In the 1980s much of China's bamboo forests were destroyed and 150 pandas starved to death. Bamboo forests take up to 80 years to develop fully.With a shortage of bamboo, pandas struggle for survival. If they are to survive we need to help them,and fast. Saving this species is truly a race against time.

The red panda lives in the forests of china. Unlike its big black and white cousin, the giant panda, it comes from the racoon family. Its diet consists of mainly only bamboo but sometimes feeds on plant roots or occasionally a reptile egg. Bamboo has very low nutrional values so it can spend up to 12 hours feeding. Deforestation and poaching are causing great inconvienienceto the red pandas survival. People believe that pelts made from the red pandas big bushy stripped long tail is a sign of good luck in marriage, This increases threat of poaching. They need help, and soon.
